Whether you're interested in learning, competing, or volunteering your time, MHSFA has what you're looking for.
As a general member, you will be given your own unique membership number, a membership card, and the ability to compete in the MHSFA competition circuit for official points and seasonal rankings. Competing in the circuit provides you with the opportunity to compare your performance against other MHSFA pilots and if you do well enough in your class, you may even be chosen to compete in an invitational event with bigger awards and more community visibility. We'll also maintain an online record of your competitions, points, and rankings for all to see!
Along side these benefits, you'll receive the membership newsletter where you'll find speed flying tech tips, an overview of events, and a look at what's new in the community and you'll have access to a growing number of speed experts in the community who can mentor you to higher skill levels and will put on speed seminars at an event near you!
General memberships are held and can be renewed on an annual basis and span one year from the time that your new or renewal request is accepted. The annual cost of general membership is $35 USD.
For those members who want to take their involvement to the next level, we offer a Contest Director certification program, which gives you the ability to run your own MHSFA-officiated event. This benefits not just you and your local club, but also the MHSFA membership base because it expands the reach of the competition circuit and increases the number of events that members can choose to compete in. Remember that in order to get the benefits of the competition circuit, the event must be officiated by MHSFA, so why not get certified and start your own grass-roots speed cup today?!
Candidates must apply for the contest director position and submit a one-time, non-refundable $50 USD application fee. Once accepted, you will receive a contest director sticker to put on your membership card.
Sometimes you just feel like being generous. If the mood strikes you, then please feel free to donate to MHSFA as a means to further our ability as an organization to accomplish the goal of unifying the international rc helicopter speed flying community. Any amount is appreciated, so don't feel bad about your contribution value!
Remember, MHSFA is a non-profit organization and, so all income is applied directly to furthering our mission to grow the speed flying discipline. At this time, MHSFA is not a tax-exempt organization and, as such, we can not offer donors the ability to deduct their donations. Check back often though, as we're working towards 501(c)(3) status!
